The Cucalorus Film Festival has been going strong for 30 years, and this annual film festival is well known as one of the biggest and best of its kind in the Cape Fear region and well beyond. Renowned as one of the largest film festivals in the southern United States, this multiple day event features a wealth of films, shorts, live entertainment, music, and many more ways to celebrate Wilmington’s reputation as the Hollywood of the East Coast.
Set against the riverfront of downtown Wilmington, the annual and non-competitive Cucalorus Film Festival features more than 300 films from all across the world in a laid-back and engaging atmosphere. In addition to the films themselves, which are shown throughout the festival at multiple venues in the downtown area, the festival also features a diverse selection of stage performances that range from dance, to original productions, to comedy, and more than 50 Connect Conference events (like Q&A sessions, panels, and workshops.) The event has grown over the years, and attracts nearly 20,000 film buffs to Wilmington on an annual basis. Fascinating and engaging throughout, the Cucalorus Film Festival is an ideal opportunity to explore how diverse and entertaining the Wilmington cultural scene can be.
