Catherine Anne Sportfishing and Excursions invites you to experience the stunning waters of Southport. Having logged many hours on these waters, Captain Steele knows them forwards and back.
Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Spanish Mackerel, Gag Grouper, Vermilion Snapper, Black Seabass, Cobia, and more inhabit these waters, depending on the season. You can expect to do some spinning, popping, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Steele can also show you kite fishing.
Kids are absolutely welcome, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Child-sized life vests are available. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks and anything specific you may want to drink, the boat provides water to stay fueled throughout your trip!
Capt. Steele operates a 32’ Regulator center console that can carry up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is included, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 15–20% tip is customary.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain. It’s always wise to bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and bottled water. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
The click of a button is the only thing keeping you from a great day on the water with Catherine Anne Sportfishing and Excursions!
