Known as one of the most-watched and most intense competitions in the Cape Fear area and miles beyond, the Ironman 70.3 North Carolina puts athletes of all ages to the test with an incredible course that requires endurance and massive feasts of strength. Featuring a swim, bike ride, and run, this "point-to-point-to-point-to-point" event will wow spectators from all across the Cape Fear region with its incredible course, and incredible athletes who participate.

The Ironman 70.3 lives up to its name and its reputation as one of the most challenging sporting events in the state, as the event features miles of terrain that needs to be covered to reach the finish line in downtown Wilmington. The course begins in Wrightsville Beach with a 1.2 mile long swim, and then continues through the coastal countryside of Wilmington with a 56 mile bike ride. Once the ride is over, athletes will take to the streets with a 13.1 mile run that leads to the finish line in downtown Wilmington, just across from the USS North Carolina Battleship. Not for the timid, the Ironman 70.3 is a qualifier for the 2019 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Nice, France, and is an event that will thrill both participants and spectators through the Cape Fear area.
