Poe’s Tavern

Poe’s Tavern is an effortlessly chic spot for Happy Hour drinks, a post-beach meal, or a late night adventure with friends reminiscing about the day over a round of beers or two. Featuring a cool brick and dark wood interior, with subdued lighting and a relaxed atmosphere, Poe’s Tavern is the place to linger over a big burger, a filling appetizer, an ice cold beer, or all of the above.

The tavern is located in between the Wrightsville Beach shoreline and the borders of Wilmington, (essentially in between bridges), which makes it a fairly accessible destination for Wilmington and beach visitors alike. Inside the warm interior, patrons will find a menu that’s stuffed with all the hearty pub fare one expects from a good tavern, like fries smothered in cheese and bacon, seafood quesadillas, and overflowing nachos, as well as a hearty line-up of burgers and sandwiches. For something fresh, try the fish tacos or the rotating daily soup, or satisfy a huge appetite by diving into the market fish sandwich, or one of the two-hand burgers, like the “Burger of the Day” which can include unique variations like the Fried Green Tomato, Applewood Bacon & Pimiento Cheese Burger. Undeniably satisfying, Poe’s Tavern will quench any thirst for a cold Happy Hour drink or a big, beachy meal.
