Celebrating its 21st year in 2025, the annual St. Patrick’s Low Tide Run is a great way for visitors and locals to explore the coastal Carolina Beach scene while ringing in the holiday with a little active fun on the sand. Officially known as the “Steve Haydu St. Patrick’s Low Tide Run,” in honor of two amazing men whose paths crossed on Carolina Beach, this annual run features costumes, cool views, and beautiful terrain throughout, as well as plenty of ways to celebrate.
The St. Patrick’s Low Tide Run takes place in the heart of Carolina Beach, and attendees are free to choose either the 10k or 5k course, which both follow the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Participants are free to run, walk, jog, or a combination of all of the above, and are encouraged to get decked out in their best St. Patty’s Day attire. With fun costumes throughout, this lively race has a cheerful holiday spirit, and the event is capped off with an awards ceremony for the top finishers in multiple categories, as well as an after party. A great activity for runners and walkers of all ages, the St. Patrick’s Low Tide Run is a fun and fast way to celebrate the spring season.
