How to get the best Cape Fear area vacation home experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Make a plan and choose a perfectvacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose the best dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 5 Buoys: Ocean View House Near Ocean Crest Pier has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
  • If there's a particular Cape Fear area destination you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
