Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfectvacation home:

  • To start, have your family choose date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Sunset Beach, You Will Love This Place! Beach, Golf, Restaurants & More. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your group.
  • If there's a specific Cape Fear area beach you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
