Don’t be deterred by the lack of reviews, my property was managed by a local property management company until late 2023 and is brand new to Vacation Rental By Owner. How to get the best value:

• Summer months are high season in the Cape Fear area area. To book the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Cape Fear area attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
• The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
• Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
• Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
• Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
• Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
• Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

During your stay:

• Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
• Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
• Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
• Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
• Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
