Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Cape Fear area rental experience:
Get the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Cape Fear area area. Booking in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect vacation rental:
- First and foremost, have your group select dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. \" You Name It\" Beautiful ocean view property that will accommodate large groups. has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your group.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
