Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Cape Fear area vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Cape Fear area area. To get the best vacation home within budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the best vacation home in the Cape Fear area area:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. BEAUTIFUL VIEWS! Southport Waterfront Condo - restful & relaxing. Book today! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
