Finding the best Oak Island rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer months are high season in Oak Island. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Cape Fear area rental:

  • Choose vacation dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Centrally-located, new construction home. has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
