Tips to get the perfect Ocean Isle Beach rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer months are high season in the Cape Fear area area. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

Finding the perfect vacation rental in the Cape Fear area area:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Coastal OIB Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If not, contact the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
