Rental home tips and tricks:

Getting the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Cape Fear area area. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the best vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Cozy 2-Bedroom Condo in the heart of Downtown Historic Wilmington, NC has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or could be applied to your contract.

Advice for your stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a great time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
