Getting the best Cape Fear area rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in Sunset Beach. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Selecting the best rental in the Cape Fear area area:

  • First and foremost, have your family agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Dog-friendly home 1 block from the beach with great deck, patio & central AC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
