Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation property experience:

When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental & When to go:

  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summertime is high season in the Cape Fear area area. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Begin by choosing trip dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Cozy 3BR Cottage Sitting on the Waterway! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Upon arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
