Getting the best Oak Island vacation home experience:

When to visit Oak Island & When to reserve a rental home:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Summertime is high season in the Cape Fear area area. Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick a perfectrental:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Fantastic Views & Great Location - steps from the beach! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
