Happy as a Clam is a brand new 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom luxury townhouse constructed in 2022 with bespoke finishes throughout. Pride of ownership throughout this home, and we hope you feel welcome when you stay! Savor the reverse floorplan with the kitchen and living room on the top level! Several private patios to savor the fresh ocean breeze! Great central location, and you'll adore the proximity to the beach! Outdoor shower and you need to do some remote work, there are two desks and fast wifi!

The Space:
Happy as a Clam is a 3 story townhome- please note there are stairs.

All Going Coastal properties include bed linens, bathing towels, paper products, and soaps/shampoos. Please bring your own beach gear, or we can recommend our favorite local vendors for units.

Guest Access:
Please enter through the gate (LEFT Side of the townhome AND NOT THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR BY THE GARAGE) Guest access through side door.

Please note that guest will not have access to the garage.

The grille uses propane that each guest is responsible for providing for themselves. The grille is not part of the cleaning fee so please clean it after each use. Thank you.

The Neighborhood:
The neighborhood is close to everything with a mix of visitors and year round residents.

Getting Around:
- Free parking at townhome

-Walk, bicycle, public parking at beaches and in town

-Bicycle and golf cart units are available on the island- let our Going Coastal team know if you need any recommendations.

-Uber cars and taxi's are also available

- Centrally located to all outdoor activities "Pleasure Island" has to offer fishing, boating, cycling, surfing, kayaking, and deep sea charters. Many striking eateries, eclectic drinking holes and coffee stores + Historic Ft. Fisher and the NC Aquarium. Check out Carolina Beach’s new mural project too!
- Wilmington Airport and Downtown Wilmington less than 40 mins away.
- Take the ferry to enjoy Southport for the day!

We also supply the following for each property:
A starter kit of one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, one roll of paper towels, a trash bag, and dish soap. We also supply laundered bed linens, comforters, and 1 bathing towel and wash cloth per person. We do not supply any beach gear or beach towel. We have great rental companies on the island we would be more than happy to share the info with you. We also do not supply laundry detergent, body soap or shampoo/conditioner as we find everybody has their own preferences for these =) Please review our home rules prior to your stay

About the Area

Wilmington Beach, a neighborhood in Carolina Beach, is home to this vacation home. Fort Fisher State Historic Site and Old Brunswick County Jail Museum are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Carolina Beach Boardwalk and Odysea Surf and Kiteboard School. North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and Tregembo Animal Park are also worth visiting.

Tricks and tips to get the optimal Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental & When to go:

  • Reserve your Cape Fear area vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.

  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
