3 Bedrooms | 2 Full Bathrooms
1 King | 2 Doubles | 2 Twins | 1 Twin Sleeper Couch

Feel the ultimate in relaxation as you allow yourself to drift with the proverbial tides and sway with the swells of the sea during a stay at Jellyfish Cottage. Boasting a unique two-wing floor plan with ocean vistas and decorated in shades of sand and sea grass, bohemian textures and understated nautical elements throughout the home combine with a sense of whimsy and invite you to slow down, linger and discover.

Enter from the partially covered deck into the bright and welcoming living room. A pair of chairs and a plush couch beckon with their abundance of throw pillows and woven blankets. Gather together to watch a favorite movie on the wall-mounted intelligent TV, or watch the sun glisten on the waves instead. When it's time to retire for the nighttime, the couch converts to a twin bed if additional sleeping space is needed.

The sturdy oval dining table seats six guests, with space for an additional four available at the close by breakfast bar. The gleaming white kitchen is supplied with everything you need to prepare meals together during your stay, and the under-cabinet lighting along with plenty of counterspace for preparation and storage help you feel right at home. Gaze out the window and watch pelicans and gulls swoop into the sea or watch for dolphins playing as you rinse local produce in the sink. Pendulum lights in the kitchen reminiscent of a jellyfish's bell and a seashell chandelier over the dining table provide the ideal finishing touches to this space.

You'll also find the master suite in the south wing, furnished with a king bed and sizable wall-mounted intelligent TV. The classic iron bedstand, comfortable throw blankets and fluffy bed linens entice you to grab a book from the close by dresser and settle in. The en suite bathroom features his and hers sinks and a standard tub/shower combo with a sliding glass door.

Between the south and north wings of the home you'll discover a enchanting partially covered porch, certain to become the center of your vacation memories. Savor a meal al fresco here as you're cooled by the ocean breeze at the outdoor dining table seating six. There's plenty of space for kids or dogs to romp and burn off energy as the family gets ready to hit the beach - this home accepts up to two dogs per stay. The laundry closet is located here as well, filled with a stackable washer and dryer and conveniently available whenever you need it without disturbing other group members.

In the north wing of the home, you'll find a short hallway connecting two bedrooms and a full bathroom with a standard tub/shower combo with a sliding glass door. Both bedrooms provide wall-mounted intelligent TVs for personal entertainment. The first room is furnished with two double beds and the second bedroom offers two twin beds. Coordinating linens and furnishings throughout the space adds to the resort-like feel, and the separation of the wings accepts you to comfortably settle little ones to bed while the adults continue to savor their evening.

Downstairs, the roomy enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water is a lifesaver when it comes time to rinse sand off of babies and fur-babies after a long day at the beach. Speaking of the beach, a walk of less than 400 feet takes you from your doorstep to the sand via the public beach access point. Thanks to the well-established vegetation on the dunes to your west and a narrowing of the island that means fewer homes, you'll set up on one of the most private stretches of Oak Island's West Beach. Soak in the serenity of nature and let your cares drift away by booking a vacation at Jellyfish Cottage today!

Strategies to get the best rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and choose the bestrental home:

  • First and foremost, have your family commit to a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Jellyfish Cottage: Dog-Friendly Boho Elegance with Ocean Views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's an individual Cape Fear area destination you are enamored with, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Some things to know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
