How to book the best Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • To find the best value, consider changing your family's Cape Fear area vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain coupons for local tours and attractions.

Finding the best rental home in the Cape Fear area area:

  • Choose your dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Large newly renovated family home. Sleeps 15. Walking distance to everything. has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you book the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation.
  • If there's a particular Cape Fear area beach you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
