Tips and Tricks to get the very best rental home experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Holden Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick the best Cape Fear area vacation home:

  • Select your vacation week and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Pool, private beach access, kid friendly has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your group.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
