Strategies to get the perfect Cape Fear area vacation property experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking your Cape Fear area vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Filter your rental search:

  • Start by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Mid-Island home with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is best for your trip.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
  • Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips for your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
