Recently constructed, Moondance delights with its designer touches! Located in beautiful Cape Fear Station, this sanctuary charms from your first glance at the curb through its rooftop deck. Enter through the white picket-fenced yard to the first story of this reverse-floor plan home. You'll delight in its special touches-warm wooden floors, shiplapped walls and ceilings and sliding barn doors. On the first level you will find a comfortable TV den, laundry room and two bedrooms. The first bedroom is a King Owner's Suite with a gorgeous and private full bath ensuite. The second is a bunk room which uses the full bath just outside its door. Out the side entrance on this floor is a forested deck, with grille, that offers a peaceful spot to commune with nature and bridges the main home with the crofter.

The crofter provides serenity and inspired touches. Its screened porch is highlighted by a hanging swing where you can while away the hours calming and appreciating ocean lullabies. Inside, this Queen suite is furnished not only with a Queen bed but also with a hanging trundle and provides a full ensuite bath. It's ideal for a modest family.

Back in the main home, the bright, open second level awes with its vaulted, beamed ceilings and walls of windows that let you appreciate tree-top living. The gourmet kitchen’s granite counters and high-end stainless appliances gleam and beckon chefs, and would-be chefs, to savor creating culinary delights. Beyond the kitchen’s generous island-that offers plenty of prep room as well as a breakfast bar for four-is a enormous dining table seating ten and accented by an eye-catching shell chandelier. You can eat at either of these spaces or savor al fresco dining on the close by screened porch.

Flowing from the dining area is the huge, open gathering space which features a roomy wrap-around couch, TV and decorative fireplace. This spot is ideal for conversation or game-playing. Like the lower level, the upstairs is highlighted by wooden floors, shiplap and sand- and water-colored accents. This level also includes another Queen bedroom as well as a gorgeous full bath.

Be sure not to miss the outdoor spiral stairs, just outside of the kitchen, that lead to the rooftop deck. This is not only a very private sunbathing getaway but also offers killer vistas of Frying Pan Shoals, East Beach and South Beach AND a hot tub! Relish your morning coffee here while taking in the sunrise or enjoy an afternoon libation from your own expansive perch.

Moondance’s other amenities include the use of two golf carts-a four-passenger and a six-passenger, an outdoor shower, bicycles, beach towels, beach chairs and access to WWP's 24/7 Property Manager Assistance Line-which means you can reach needed help even after hours or on weekends. For a vacation that will have you feeling like dancing on the moon, stay at Moondance!

Strategies to get the perfect vacation property experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.

Selecting the best vacation home in Bald Head Island:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Moondance delights with designer touches in recent construction! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • If there's a particular Cape Fear area beach you love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your contract.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
