Oak Island vacation rental tips:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Oak Island. Reserve your Cape Fear area rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and choose the perfect Cape Fear area rental:
- Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. NEW Guava Pineapple, 5\/5, Oak Island, private heated pool, custom home, professionally decorated has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a certain Cape Fear area destination you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
