Located by the sea, this vacation home is in Cape Fear Station, a neighborhood in Bald Head Island. Kent Mitchell Nature Trail and The Clubs at St. James are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Carolina Beach and Caswell Beach. North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport and North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher are also worth visiting.

Getting the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Cape Fear area area. Book your Cape Fear area rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses.   • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.

  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review.
