Tricks and tips to get the best Cape Fear area vacation property experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Cape Fear area area. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick the perfectrental:

  • Select a group leader, select your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Ocean Breezes: Vintage Oceanfront Home on Oak Island's Coveted West End has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
