Tips to get the perfect Cape Fear area rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select your dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanfront condo, recently renovated w\/ocean views & 21ft. boat slip. has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a specific Cape Fear area beach you long to visit, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Additional considerations:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
