Getting the best Cape Fear area vacation property experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summer time is high season in the Cape Fear area area. To get the most suitable rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing and booking yourrental:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Front Row: Oceanfront home with covered deck and direct beach access. has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's an individual Cape Fear area destination you love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. text the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
