Two FSTV's, DVD player, VCR, wireless internet access, no phone. Dining table seats six, additional seating at island, loft sitting area with FSTV, oceanfront, covered decks w/great vistas, plus area to sit in sun on walkway to beach, covered parking. Direct beach access. Nightly units available with three-nighttime minimum stay off season only. Off season monthly units available.

Though family pets are not allowed, please note that dogs may be present during an owner stay for those guests allergic to pets.

About the Area

Located on the beach, this vacation home is in Long Beach, a neighborhood in Oak Island. Bald Head Island Lighthouse and Old Brunswick County Jail Museum are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Bald Head Island Information Center and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport. Discover the area's water adventures with scuba diving and fishing nearby, or enjoy the great outdoors with horse riding and cycling.

Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • To start, have your group agree to dates and a spending budget.

  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

During your stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
