Tricks and tips for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Choosing the best vacation rental in Oak Island:

  • Choose dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Off The Clock: Quietly Tucked Away, Only Two Minutes From Beach Access has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If there's a specific Cape Fear area destination you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
