Rental home tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by choosing your trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Peaceful Sunshine Cottage walk to waterfront family friendly has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before booking your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
