Our top Vacation rental home tips and tricks:

When to go & When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental home:

  • Summer is high season in the Cape Fear area area. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitors guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the best vacation rental:

  • Start by having your family choose the best dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Private apartment-3 minute walk to the beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
