Our top Sunset Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Cape Fear area area. Book your Cape Fear area rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing the best vacation rental:

  • Choose a group leader, select your dates, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. River Creek II 1306 Beach and Golf Condo only 1.5 miles from Sunset Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is right for your family.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
