Tips for getting the perfect vacation home experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking your Cape Fear area vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick the best Cape Fear area rental home:

  • Start by selecting the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Walk2Beach 4BR Near Park\/SplashPad\/Publix\/Donuts has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is best for your family.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
