Vacation rental home tips and tricks:

When to visit & When to reserve a Sunset Beach rental home:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select vacation dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Great rates! Beautiful weather, golf course, whole condo, close to beach. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
