Finding the best Cape Fear area rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • To find the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have discounts for local shops and restaurants.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. ??Tequila Mockingbird-2 blocks from the Ocean-5BR?? has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.

During your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
