How to find the best Cape Fear area vacation home experience:

Getting the best value:

  • Summer time is high season in the Cape Fear area area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by having your family agree to a vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Hobbs Realty - \"Sugar 'n Spice\" and everything nice makes for a fantastic vacation in this 5 bed oceanfront home. has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a particular Cape Fear area destination you long to visit, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.

More considerations:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
