Cape Fear area vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Choosing and booking the perfectrental:

  • Begin by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. \"Sunny on Second\" is a pristine, newly-built home a private pool and elevator and is just a 2 minute walk to the beach! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. text the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to stimulate future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
