Finding the best Cape Fear area vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Narrow your Search:

  • To start, have your group agree to a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. The Rhythm Ranch 2BR\/1BA minutes to UNCW & Wrightsville Beach! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
