How to book the best Cape Fear area vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitor guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the perfect vacation rental in the Cape Fear area area:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Tropic Like Its Hot-Beautiful Pet Friendly Home! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • If there's an individual Cape Fear area beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
