4 Bedrooms | 2 Full Bathrooms | 1 Half Bathroom
2 Queens | 2 Twins | 1 Twin-over-double Bunk Bed | 1 Queen Sleeper Couch

Conveniently located near the Middleton Park complex, Watts Nest is the ideal landing point for your next Oak Island vacation! Featuring an elevator for ease of access, your entire family can relax and recharge in the open-concept living space flooded with natural light or savor vistas of the rolling Atlantic from the front porch of this new-construction home finished in fall of 2023. And when you're ready to hit the beach, a walk of less than 500 feet takes you from your doorstep to the ideal spot to set up your blanket on the sand.

Cuddle on the couch and loveseat with appreciated ones as you stream the big game or a favorite movie on the flat screen TV. The modern eat-in kitchen has everything you need to prepare the catch of the day or traditional family recipes. The wooden dining table seats six comfortably, and an additional four barstools are available at the breakfast bar. The property also provides a high chair and a Pack and Play travel crib for little ones.

Just down the hall, a half bath is included for your convenience. The laundry closet is just opposite, where a full-sized washer and dryer make dealing with sandy towels and wet bathing suits before heading home a breeze. On either side of this hallway, you'll find two bedrooms connected by a Jack and Jill bath. All four bedrooms have their own TV, accepting you to stream the personal entertainment of your choice with ease before settling down for the evening.

To the west, the front bedroom is furnished with a queen bed, and the bath features a standard tub/shower combo and double sinks, each with plenty of counter space. The back bedroom has a twin-over-double bunk bed and direct access to the back covered porch. To the east, the front bedroom also features a queen bed. While this bath has the same double sink and countertops as the west side, a low-step in shower with constructed-in shower seats and a grab bar is supplied instead. This connects to the back bedroom with a pair of twin beds and its own direct deck access. If additional sleeping space is needed, the couch in the living room pulls out to a queen bed.

Outside, you're sure to spend hours on the covered front porch with plenty of seating appreciating the ocean breeze and vistas of whitecaps on the horizon. Walk three homes over and across the street for the closest beach access, and you'll arrive on the sand in moments. Stroll a block or two to the west to take in craft festivals or open-air concerts at Middleton Park, where you'll also find a seasonal splash pad and an accessible playground for the younger kids.

Oak Island rental booking tips:

When to visit Oak Island & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking your Cape Fear area vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Watts Nest: Ocean View with Elevator, Close to Beach and Splash Pad! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking

More considerations:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of problems.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
