3 Bedrooms | 2 Full Bathrooms
1 King | 2 Queen | 2 Twin-over-double Bunk Beds

Feel like you've really escaped to the tropics with a vacation stay at Wave Haven! From the moment you pull up to the welcoming hammock strung in the shade under the home and the fun pastel colors adorning the front porch, you'll know you've arrived to the ultimate coastal getaway. Finest of all, everybody can come along, as this home accepts up to three dogs per stay.

The open concept living area is designed with plenty of open floor space for the dogs and kiddos to play, while still providing plenty of seating for your crew on the comfortable sectional and armchair so you can settle in to watch a movie on the wall-mounted flatscreen TV. The oval dining table is set for six, but can seat up to eight, and an additional three barstools are available at the close by breakfast bar. The modern kitchen features stainless steel appliances and all the cookware you need to prepare family meals.

When it comes time to retire at nighttime, all three bedrooms feature their own TV, so there's no arguing over what to watch before bed. The master bedroom features a king bed and private ensuite bath with a step in shower. Down the hall, a standard bathroom with a tub/shower combo is shared by the other two bedrooms. The first bedroom is furnished with two queen beds, while the bunkroom has two twin-over-double bunk beds.

Outside, relax in the Adirondack chairs on the ocean-facing front porch while you listen to the waves and watch the sparkle of the sunlight on the sea. Take an afternoon nap while you sway in the hammock downstairs, or grille up the catch of the day on the supplied park grille. An enclosed outdoor shower makes cleaning up after hitting the beach a breeze, and when you are ready to hit the sand, beach access is right across the street and two homes to the left. Or, walk about a block and a half to reach the Ocean Crest Fishing Pier, where you'll also find fashionable waterfront dining spots Island Way and The Seahorse Eats and Drinks.

Gather up your crew and canines and catch extraordinary tropical vacation vibes at Wave Haven!

Strategies to get the very best Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Booking your Cape Fear area vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing the best rental home in Oak Island:

  • Start by having your group commit to vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Wave Haven: 2nd Row Dog-Friendly Coastal Retreat with Fun Tropic Vibes has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area attraction you love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • During check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
