Tips to get the best Cape Fear area rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are high season in the Cape Fear area area. To book the best vacation home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Wingspan: Modern, Elegant Home Close to the Intracoastal Waterway has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
