Strategies to get the best Oak Island rental home experience:

When to visit Oak Island & When to book:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.

How to select the best rental in Oak Island:

  • Choose vacation dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Changes In Attitudes- Wireless internet access, screened porch and close to beac has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • If there's a particular Cape Fear area beach you simply love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
