Healing Waters. When you book a hideaway, that is what you are looking for. Somewhere to relax & have fun. In this oceanfront bungalow one of your favorite spots may be sitting on the deck, overlooking the ocean & feeling the effect of those Healing Waters. Smell that fresh salt air. Feel those salubrious breezes. Put your toes in the warm sand. Take a dip into the ocean, the Healing Waters. In the heat of the day, relax on the covered deck & take in all the beauty that being oceanfront affords. Oak Island is unusual on the East Coast in that we have a South facing beach. Bring your camera & coffee to watch the sun rise over the water & in the evening pour a glass of wine to watch the sun set, also over the water. As the sun disappears, the Edison lights on the deck create a calming mood.

There is a private walkway leading you over the 1st set of dunes to a path through the 2nd set of dunes to the shoreline. As you head down the walkway you may want to bring the binoculars from inside & sit on the bench to watch for dolphins playing in the water ahead of you. Zoom in to see the pelicans fly in formation & the gulls as they “laugh” at you. Grab the supplied 6 chairs & beach toys as you head to appreciate the warmth of the sun & fun in the sand & water.

Unload your vacation supplies under the covered parking & head right up the stairs leading to the memories about to be made. Staying oceanfront also saves you from searching for parking at the beach accesses & during the season, having to pay to park once you find that space.

Enter to find an open concept kitchen, dining & living areas. The bright white, vaulted ceilings reflect the light from the windows flanking the back of the living area with vistas of the ocean. What an airy, relaxing vibe you feel already. In the comfortable living area, you can watch TV, play games, or relive the fun of the day by the ambiance of electric fireplace any time of year. Dividing the kitchen & living areas is an island with plenty of storage & seating for 6. You may choose alfresco dining at the picnic table on the deck. Preparing meals in this open concept kitchen accepts for everybody to be together but appreciating their own activities. Modest appliances include a drip/k-cup coffee maker, tea kettle, blender, toaster & stock pot to make those low county seafood boils.

To the left of the dining island is the stacked washer/dryer laundry center. Save room for souvenirs by packing lighter because you can wash your vacation clothes, swimsuits & towels as you use them. An iron & board are included to look sharp & crisp for those dinners out. The Primary Bedroom, with ensuite, entry is directly off the dining area. This Primary with queen includes an ensuite with shower & hair dryer. Bedroom #2 has 2 twin beds, TV & a desk for mobile work or school. Bedroom #3 sleeps 3 in a full & twin bed; TV. The hall bath has a tub/shower combination with hair dryer & is shared by bedrooms 2 & 3.

Please note: Linens are included with your reservation and your beds will be made prior to your arrival. Also a Welcome Bag will be waiting for you upon your arrival with starter supplies which includes 2 trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher powder, washing machine powder, dish sponge, modest shampoo and conditioner with bar of soap, make up remover, and 2 bottles of water.

Oak Island, a family-aligned beach with a enormous variety of activities. Choose from the sand & sun, 2 piers, museums, nature parks & a skateboard park. Seasonally: Outdoor Concerts/Food Trucks, Splash Pad & Farmer’s/Craft Markets. The Iconic landmark, the OKI Lighthouse is in Caswell Beach. You can schedule a tour ahead of time online. It’s a short drive to a huge variety of eateries & shopping opportunities. There are 2 grocery stores on the island. If you don’t want to miss leg day, there is a gym here with daily & weekly drop-in prices.

Strategies to get the best rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.

Selecting the perfect rental in the Cape Fear area area:

  • First, have your family select a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Amazing Dog Friendly Oceanfront 3 Bedroom Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the host before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
