Tricks and tips to get the optimal Cape Fear area vacation home experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Reserve your Cape Fear area vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the best rental in the Cape Fear area area:

  • First and foremost, have your family select dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 3rd Row-Only Steps Away from Paradise has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a specific Cape Fear area beach you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More considerations:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. message the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
