  • Private vacation home

Sawyer’s Sandcastle is ideal for guests desiring both luxury and gorgeous vistas. Featuring 5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths with a private saltwater pool, 6 seater electric golf cart and a 3 hole putting green, there’s plenty of space to spread out and appreciate all this chic home has to offer. Pet friendly with a fenced back yard, you are just steps away from the beach, Intracoastal waterway for kayak launches and the NEW Lonerider Brewery & Restaurant.

Before we talk about the home, let’s first discuss the location. There is a reason that this home is ideal for guests who want luxury vacation living. Located at the ideal point between the ocean and the sound, you’ll have ocean or sound vistas from every room. As Oak Island faces south, you’ll experience striking sunrises over the ocean, and sunsets over the sound. This is the area you’ll want to visit to get the most out of your vacation. Leave your car in the driveway and walk or bicycle to the ocean where fishing, swimming, shelling and basking in the warm sun will have you casual in no time. Or leave from the back of the home and visit the sound, where smaller waves and currents provide the ideal spot for exploring tidal pools, looking for sand dollars and starfish, crabbing or kayaking. The Lonerider, Oak Island’s 5-star rated brewery and restaurant, is just steps away from the home.

Now on to the handsome home. Sawyer’s Sandcastle as mentioned is located between the ocean and the sound. It features 5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths, with impressive vistas of the Atlantic Ocean and huge heated (additional charge), private pool that is ideal for sizable families or groups. You will appreciate the cavernous, peaceful and uncrowded beach directly in front of the home and the spectacular vistas from the two elevated balconies.

The top floor of the home features a master bedroom complete with tray ceilings, king sized bath. The master shower also features a relaxing “rain shower” shower head. The master bedroom windows provide a stunning view of the sounds and just outside the door is the balcony overlooking both the pool and the sound.

Also on this floor is a huge gourmet kitchen with high-end appliances, recessed as well as chandelier lighting, a enormous dining table and a center island with additional seating. The open floor plan accepts meals to be prepared while conversing with the family and friends gathered in the living room.

Downstairs, you’ll find four more bedrooms and two additional baths. 3 bedrooms include queen sized beds, while the fourth is ideal for the kids. This room has a bunk bed (full on bottom, twin on top), and a single bed. All bedrooms have Roku TV's. Log into your own apps or savor basic cable as well.

Outside, you’ll be sure to enjoy the large pool (which can be heated upon request at an additional charge in the cooler months), putting green to practice those putt-putt skills, fenced back yard ideal for keeping the family pet at home, and a bigger outdoor shower. We also have a charcoal grille. For time on the beach, we have beach chairs, games and the trendy Shibumi Shade available for your convenience. With plenty of outdoor seating all around, the entire family can enjoy being outdoors, talking, laughing, swimming and making memories that will last for a lifetime.

Feel complimentary to ride the extravagant golf cart around the island and take in the handsome sunrise and sunset vistas from the Point. Oak Island accepts for the golf cart to be utilized where the speed limit is 35 MPH.

This home also features an elevator which is helpful for those with mobility issues as well as bringing groceries and suitcases upstairs.

How to find the best vacation home experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the best rental home:

  • Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Putt-Putt
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
