Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation property experience:

Get the best rental home value:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Cape Fear area area. Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing a perfect Cape Fear area rental:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Hollis House - Adorable, Affordable 2nd Row Cottage, Close to Beach, Parking, Pet Friendly has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
