Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer months are high season in the Cape Fear area area. To get the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Cape Fear area attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting and booking your prefect Cape Fear area vacation home:

  • Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. All About The Views: Cozy Home with Canal and Ocean Views, Close to Nature Walk has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what bed configuration is best for your family.
  • If there's an individual Cape Fear area attraction you long to visit, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
