Strategies to get the very best Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best value, try changing your family's Cape Fear area vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting the perfect rental:

  • First and foremost, have your group decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Dog-friendly beachfront house with screened porch, AC & W\/D has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

Know before you go:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
