Tricks and tips to get the best vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain coupons for local shops and restaurants.

How to choose the best vacation home in Ocean Isle Beach:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Amazing Ocean Views House w\/ Private Saltwater Pool - 5 BR-4 BA - Sleeps 13 has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
