Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and pick the right Cape Fear area vacation home:

  • Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Arts and Antiques flat - sleeps 4! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
